Bari implements new school transport support for students with disabilities

In the Metropolitan City of Bari, new measures are being implemented to address school bus accessibility for students with disabilities and those attending secondary schools. To ensure service continuity during the upcoming school year, a new tender with increased financial resources has been launched.

Additionally, for the first time, the administration is introducing a temporary economic reimbursement for families who must arrange their own transportation if the school bus service is not yet operational at the start of the term. This reimbursement will be calculated based on mileage and actual school attendance, using rates published by the Automobile Club d’Italia (ACI). Utilizing this reimbursement does not waive the student's right to the standard school transport service once the new assignment procedures are completed.
