Bari inaugurates Steelosa recycled steel bench
The Steelosa project has arrived in Bari, Italy, with the inauguration of an infinity-shaped bench made from recycled steel on the Ugo Lorusso seafront in Palese. Promoted by the Ricrea National Consortium for the Recycling and Recovery of Steel Packaging, the installation aims to raise awareness about the circular economy and the importance of correctly disposing of steel packaging.
The steel used for the bench was sourced from post-consumer items, including cans, tins, drums, and bottle caps. The project was carried out in collaboration with ANCI (National Association of Italian Municipalities) and Pubblicità Progresso.
The installation also serves as recognition for Bari's Fifth Municipality, which was identified as the most successful participant in the Municirco project, a local initiative focused on waste separation and community engagement. The inauguration ceremony included local officials such as Ricrea President Domenico Rinaldini and Bari's Environmental Councilor Elda Perlino.
