Bari initiates extraordinary street cleaning and sanitation plan

The city of Bari is implementing an extraordinary cleaning and sanitation plan to prepare for the upcoming school year. Starting September 7 and continuing until October 10, Amiu Puglia, in coordination with the Municipality of Bari, will conduct deep cleaning of streets and sidewalks. The initial phase will focus on school zones in the Japigia, Madonnella, San Pasquale, and Carrassi neighborhoods, eventually expanding city-wide.

Operational activities will take place between 4:00 AM and 10:30 AM, utilizing specialized vehicles including street sweepers and water tankers. Temporary parking restrictions will be enforced in affected areas to ensure safety and efficiency.

In a separate development regarding urban maintenance, the Liberal Democratic Party has launched a petition in the Madonnella district. The initiative calls on the Mayor and the Municipality to clarify which streets are officially included in the ordinary sweeping service. This follows reports of inadequate cleanliness and concerns regarding the TARI waste tax, with organizers questioning whether the services paid for by citizens are being effectively delivered in specific areas such as Via Libia and Via Dieta.
