Bari introduces new airport traffic system and taxi digital tools

Bari is implementing several technological updates to improve transportation and transparency within the city. Starting November 5, 2026, Bari Airport will launch the Kiss & Fly system to regulate traffic and improve safety. The system includes an external waiting area where vehicles can park for free for up to one hour without entering the airport's internal roads.

For those entering the airport area, automatic license plate recognition will be used. Vehicles are permitted two free entries per day, with a maximum stay of 20 minutes per entry. A 10 euro fee will apply to each entry starting from the third visit of the day, which must be paid online within 24 hours.

Additionally, the Municipality of Bari is introducing QR codes in all city taxis. These codes allow passengers to consult official fare lists and complete digital surveys to rate the quality of the service. The information is available in both Italian and English to assist tourists.
