Cial launches 'Ogni Lattina Vale' recycling program on Salerno and Calabria beaches

The Consorzio Nazionale Imballaggi Alluminio (Cial), backed by Coca‑Cola Italia, has introduced the "Ogni Lattina Vale" project to collect and recycle aluminum beverage cans in out‑of‑home settings on Italy’s southern coast. In Salerno, about 30 beach establishments have received dedicated collection bins and informational material for bathers, supported by a local media campaign on TV, radio, social networks and print.

The same scheme is being rolled out across the Calabria regional marine parks, with regional patronage and participation from numerous seaside venues. An itinerant component uses the vessel Mavisto—previously seized from migrant‑smuggling networks—to promote marine sustainability and to offer training and inclusion opportunities for vulnerable youth. "Ogni Lattina Vale" is the Italian branch of the international Every Can Counts programme, active in 21 countries, and aims to reinforce the message that aluminum is 100 % recyclable. Italy’s overall can‑recycling rate reached 92.8 % in 2025, and the project seeks to extend high‑collection rates to beach environments and to engage younger audiences.
