Bari launches Le Feste di Santomare coastal festival project
The city of Bari has launched “Le Feste di Santomare,” a new project designed to revitalize its coastal districts through three weekends of music, culture, and sports. Promoted by the Municipality of Bari’s Department of Local Development and the Blue Economy, and implemented by Puglia Culture, the initiative features artistic coordination by Dino Lupelli.
The project focuses on three specific coastal neighborhoods: Santo Spirito, San Girolamo, and San Giorgio-Torre a Mare. By utilizing these areas, the initiative aims to support local businesses and experiment with a bottom-up participation model where residents, shopkeepers, and local associations help shape the programming.
The goal is to decentralize Bari’s cultural and tourist offerings, transforming the end of the summer season into opportunities for local development and social interaction. The initiative seeks to highlight the identity of these maritime communities, where fishing, tourism, and the Blue Economy intersect.
