Bari launches participatory regeneration plan for three neighborhoods

The Municipality of Bari has launched a participatory initiative aimed at the urban, economic, and social regeneration of the San Pio, Catino, and Torricella neighborhoods. During an initial meeting at Palazzo di Città, local authorities met with a diverse group of stakeholders, including entrepreneurs, professional orders, universities, and local associations, to begin developing a multidisciplinary masterplan.

The project was initiated following requests from both public and private entities seeking to redesign these districts. The primary goals include improving urban connections, enhancing services, and increasing resident well-being to foster new economic growth opportunities. Mayor Vito Leccese emphasized that the process is built on principles of collaboration and horizontal subsidiarity, inviting all interested parties to contribute ideas and knowledge to build a stronger sense of community.
