Bari: Mass brawl erupts in Piazza Umberto I

A large-scale brawl broke out in Bari's central Piazza Umberto I on the afternoon of August 31. Approximately fifty individuals, many of whom are non-EU citizens, engaged in violent clashes using stones, bottles, and large tree branches as weapons.

The Polizia di Stato intervened following reports from panicked bystanders. While some participants fled upon the arrival of law enforcement, several individuals sustained contusions. Authorities are currently working to identify those involved in the incident. The area has been noted for recurring issues with drug trafficking and periodic public disorder.
