Bari mayor inspects new rugby and American football stadium
Construction of a new rugby and American football stadium in the Catino district of Bari is entering its final stages. Mayor Vito Leccese and Councilor Domenico Scaramuzzi recently conducted a technical inspection of the site on via Caravella to monitor progress.
The facility features a 130 by 80-meter natural grass pitch equipped with an advanced drainage system for rainwater reuse. Designed to meet CONI regulatory standards, the stadium is capable of hosting official matches up to the Serie B level.
Key components of the complex include a main grandstand with a 500-seat capacity, gender-segregated locker rooms for teams and officials, and an equipped infirmary. Additionally, the project includes a 290-square-meter multifunctional gym and club house designed to serve as a social hub for the neighborhood and a space for the traditional rugby ‘third time’ gatherings. Following the completion of works, the city will begin the certification process and tender for management.
