Bari Mayor Reactivates Historic “Capa di Ferro” Fountain
The historic “Capa di Ferro” drinking fountain on Lungomare Imperatore Augusto in Bari has been put back into service after a series of repairs and water‑quality checks. Mayor Vito Leccese inspected the fountain together with technicians from the city’s IVOP department and representatives of Acquedotto Pugliese.
The municipality replaced the fountain’s internal pump, while Acquedotto Pugliese completed its portion of the work and new water analyses returned a compliant result from the local health authority (ASL). The reopening restores a long‑standing symbol of the city’s daily life for residents, tourists and runners along the seafront.
