Bari Prosecutor Roberto Rossi receives death threats on social media

Roberto Rossi, the Prosecutor of the Republic of Bari, has been the target of serious death threats and intimidation via social media. The threats reportedly followed Rossi’s statements regarding the importance of seizing illicit assets as a primary method for weakening organized crime.

Italian political figures have responded with strong condemnation. Luigi Caroli, president of the Antimafia Commission, expressed unconditional solidarity, stating that such digital intimidation must not compromise the independence or the work of the judiciary. Similarly, Senator Filippo Melchiorre of the Antimafia Parliamentary Commission described the attacks as unacceptable attempts to undermine the fight against organized crime and the institutions that uphold legality and justice.
