Bari redevelopment project at Piazzale Locchi faces prolonged delays

Construction at Piazzale Locchi in the Bari/San Pasquale district has been stalled for months, leaving the site in a state of neglect. The redevelopment project for via Gaetano Postiglione and via Giovanni Amendola, funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), remains inactive after the original contractor withdrew due to economic difficulties.

Local residents report that the site is currently filled with weeds and trash, and the perimeter fencing has been vandalized. The delay has also resulted in the loss of approximately 30 parking spaces for local inhabitants. There are growing calls for the municipality to appoint the second-ranked bidder to resume the works and complete the planned green spaces.
