Bari violinist Enrico Vacca killed in bicycle-truck collision

Enrico Vacca, a 45-year-old violinist for the Teatro Petruzzelli Orchestra, died following a road accident in Bari on the morning of September 4. The incident occurred at the intersection of Corso Alcide De Gasperi and Via Alberotanza.

According to preliminary reports, Vacca was riding his bicycle when he collided with a truck transporting construction waste. Emergency responders performed resuscitation efforts on-site before transporting him to the Di Venere hospital in critical condition. Despite medical efforts, he passed away later that morning due to his severe injuries.

The Fondazione Teatro Petruzzelli expressed deep grief over the loss of their colleague, describing him as “deeply loved by all of us.” Local police have closed the street to traffic to conduct investigations and reconstruct the sequence of events to determine the exact cause of the collision.
