Barilla faces industrial scrutiny in Marcianise and automation upgrades in Parma

Local authorities in Marcianise have convened an extraordinary council session to discuss the future of the Barilla manufacturing plant. Following news regarding the group’s new industrial plan and potential changes in ownership, officials are focusing on protecting jobs and ensuring production continuity. The proposed resolution aims to engage the mayor, the municipal government, trade unions, and national institutions to secure guarantees for both direct and indirect workers.

Separately, Barilla’s Pedrignano plant in Parma has implemented an automated truck loading system using laser-guided vehicles (LGVs). Developed in collaboration with E80 Group, this technology is part of a long-term digital transformation strategy to create an integrated smart factory model. The system utilizes E80 Group’s proprietary software to coordinate logistics from raw material entry to final shipment.
