Barilla renews scholarship partnership with Fondazione Intercultura, supporting 53 students
Barilla has renewed its collaboration with the Fondazione Intercultura for the 2026‑2027 school year, extending a scholarship programme that began in 2000. Over the past 25 years, 53 students – children of Barilla employees at the company's Italian sites – have been awarded international study grants out of 158 applications.
The programme combines scholarships with teacher‑training and scientific‑research activities. Selections are made by Intercultura APS based on academic performance, motivation, personal maturity and the ability to thrive in an intercultural setting. Recipients have mainly gone to North America (56%), Europe (30%), South America (11%) and Asia (1%). The United States remains the most frequent destination, with 21 departures, while the programme has expanded to include Latin‑American and several European countries.
Barilla views the initiative as an investment in the next generation, aiming to develop language skills, cross‑cultural competence and confidence for future professional paths.
