Barilla selects three winners for Good Food Makers innovation program

Barilla has announced the three winners of the 2026 edition of its Good Food Makers program, an open innovation initiative designed to accelerate development through global startup collaborations. The winners, selected from 194 applicants across 44 countries, are the American companies Sunday Supper and Enboarder, and the Finnish company KÄÄPÄ Biotech.

The selected startups will enter a co-design phase with Barilla teams to develop pilot projects addressing three specific challenges: Redefining Everyday Meals, Mood Boost in Motion, and Next-Gen Smart Onboarding. The program, now in its eighth edition, is developed in collaboration with Almacube, the University of Bologna, Confindustria Emilia Area Centro, and the Golinelli Foundation.

Sunday Supper, a Los Angeles-based premium frozen meal brand, is among the winners. Laurette Defranco, Barilla’s Head of Open Innovation & IP Rights, noted that the winners possess validated value propositions and strong development potential, which will be transformed into real collaboration opportunities through these pilot projects.
