Barilla supports Italian food history exhibition in Torino
The Museo Nazionale del Risorgimento Italiano in Torino is hosting a new exhibition titled ‘A Tavola! Cucina, cibo e gusto nell’Italia del Risorgimento’. Curated by Ilaria Porciani, the exhibition runs from October 21 until April 4, 2027.
Supported by Barilla through the collections of Academia Barilla, the Barilla Historical Archive, and the Pasta Museum, the exhibit explores the evolution of Italian food culture from the late 18th century to World War I. The display examines how regional traditions, international influences, and the rise of the food industry contributed to a shared national gastronomic identity.
Key artifacts include 10 historical menus and 23 volumes from the 19th century, including a rare 1851 edition of ‘Cuciniere italiano moderno’. These documents provide insight into the changing recipes, social rituals, and dining customs of the era.
