Bariloche: 60-year-old man rescued from Cerro López via helicopter
A man approximately 60 years old was rescued from the Palotinos sector of Cerro López in Bariloche following a fall on Sunday. The accident resulted in a head injury and dehydration, necessitating a complex mountain rescue operation.
Members of the Club Andino Bariloche Relief Commission (CAX) reached the victim on Sunday but remained with him overnight due to difficult terrain and darkness. On Monday morning, an IBEX helicopter arrived to perform an aerial evacuation. Because the steep geography prevented the aircraft from landing near the victim, rescuers and a doctor had to be lowered via a 30-meter rope from the helicopter to reach him and complete the extraction.
Official details regarding the man's specific injuries and current health status have not yet been released.
