Bariloche family reaches mediation agreement for elderly care
A family in Bariloche has reached a formal agreement to share the care and financial responsibilities for an elderly relative who requires permanent assistance and attends a day center.
The mediation process, conducted at the Centro Integral de Métodos Autocompositivos de Resolución de Conflictos (CIMARC), allowed the family to organize weekly shifts for daily assistance and transportation. They also established a shared method for covering institutional costs, utilizing family income first and covering any remaining differences as agreed upon.
The intervention was initiated after a family member approached the Centro de Atención de la Defensa Pública (CADEP) regarding the legal obligation of relatives to provide support when an individual lacks sufficient means. The agreement transformed a family dispute into a structured, sustainable commitment to the elderly relative's care.
