Bariloche Mayor attends audiovisual festival and INVAP anniversary

Bariloche Mayor Walter Cortés participated in two significant local events: the opening of the 14th Festival Audiovisual Bariloche and the 50th-anniversary celebration of the technology company INVAP.

The audiovisual festival commenced at the La Baita Theater with musical performances and a screening of the documentary ‘El partido’, which explores the 1986 World Cup match between Argentina and England. Local officials, including the Secretary of Culture of Río Negro, Martín Fraile Milstein, attended the opening, which runs from September 21 to 27, 2026.

Additionally, Cortés joined Río Negro Governor Alberto Weretilneck to commemorate five decades of INVAP. During the ceremony at the company's headquarters, Cortés highlighted INVAP’s role in linking Bariloche to global technological advancements in fields such as satellites, radars, and nuclear reactors. He noted the company's historical significance and its contribution to scientific knowledge and social awareness.
