Bariloche strengthens tourism and gastronomy in Patagonia
San Carlos de Bariloche is strengthening its position as a key hub for tourism and gastronomy in the Argentine Patagonia. The city will host the 2026 edition of ‘Bariloche a la Carta’ from October 5 to 12, a gastronomic festival featuring nearly one hundred establishments, including restaurants, hotels, and breweries. This upcoming edition will feature Córdoba as a guest province and include chefs from Chile and Brazil.
Parallel to these cultural events, tourism trends in the region show significant growth. Data from Airbnb indicates that Bariloche has seen a nearly 10% year-on-year increase in reservations, driven largely by Millennial and Gen Z travelers. On a broader scale, Airbnb reported that its host and guest activities contributed over USD 2.3 billion to Argentina's GDP in 2025, supporting approximately 116,000 jobs.
