Bariloche to host 55th National Snow Festival from Aug 13‑16, 2026

The 55th edition of the Fiesta Nacional de la Nieve will take place in San Carlos de Bariloche, Río Negro, Argentina, from 13 to 16 August 2026. Organized by the municipal government with support from Emprotur, the provincial government and the national tourism secretariat, the four‑day program includes free concerts by national artists, mountain shows, gastronomic fairs, traditional contests such as the Tortas competition, the selection of the Reina Nacional de la Nieve, and a drone light show at Cerro Catedral.

The event is expected to draw large numbers of residents and tourists, increasing demand for accommodation, traffic in the city centre, Puerto San Carlos and the ski resort. Visitors are advised to book lodging early and plan for heavier transit. The festival highlights Bariloche’s winter tourism assets – snow‑covered slopes, chocolate, lakes and Patagonian cuisine – and aims to boost the local economy during the off‑peak ski period.
