Bark Technologies has launched the Bark Watch, a specialized smartwatch for older children seeking more independence. The device is built upon the hardware of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 40mm model.

To ensure safety, the watch utilizes custom software that restricts access to social media, web browsers, and mobile games. It also prevents unrestricted app installations. A central feature is Bark’s AI platform, which monitors incoming and outgoing text media in the background. The system is designed to alert parents if it detects potential risks such as cyberbullying, explicit content, or online predators.

The Bark Watch is priced at $240, with an additional monthly service requirement of $15 for cellular connectivity and parental control features.
