Barletta: Dispute over Piazza Plebiscito management

A dispute has emerged in Barletta regarding the management of Piazza Plebiscito, where the Ambulatorio Popolare has operated for six years. The association is facing a request from Futuro Nazionale to revoke its management of the public space.

The Ambulatorio Popolare defends its role as a symbol of solidarity and mutualism, providing medical assistance, social integration, and educational opportunities for diverse groups, including those in recovery and local students. The association claims to have transformed the area into a safe, lived-in community space.

In response to the revocation request, the Sinistra Italiana – AVS Franco Dambra circle has expressed strong support for the Ambulatorio Popolare. The political group condemned the move as an ideological attack on a vital social resource and called on democratic forces to defend the initiative against attempts to criminalize social solidarity.
