Béarn and Pays de Cagire launch summer family activities in the French Pyrenees

In the Béarn region, the environmental association Ecocène is organising a night‑time wildlife safari along the banks of the Gave de Pau river. The guided walk runs from 21:30 to 23:00 and lets participants observe nocturnal birds, bats and insects while learning about the effects of urban light‑pollution on these species.

The nearby farm Pakucha in Lucq‑de‑Béarn offers tours where alpaca and cash‑mere goat breeders Charlotte and Christian demonstrate wool harvesting techniques.

Across the adjacent Pays de Cagire, the local tourism offices list a programme of outdoor outings for July‑August, including a farm visit to see Angora goats in Belbèze‑en‑Comminges, canyoning at Aiguaventura, a hike to the Pic de Paloumère, a speleology introduction near Aspet, and a macramé‑craft workshop in Fougaron.
