Barnaby Joyce claims talks with senior Liberals over minority government support
One Nation leader Barnaby Joyce has claimed that he is engaged in ongoing discussions with “very, very senior Liberals” regarding potential support for a minority government following the next federal election.
Joyce stated that the discussions involve the possibility of One Nation providing confidence and supply to the Coalition in the event of a hung parliament. He noted that while One Nation does not seek to enter a formal coalition, they would consider supporting the Coalition based on the achievement of specific policy outcomes. Joyce indicated that such an arrangement would include a formal process for reviewing legislation.
Liberal Party representatives have dismissed these claims. Opposition Leader Angus Taylor denied that the Liberals are in talks with One Nation regarding confidence and supply for a future minority government.
