Barolo en primeur charity auction raises record 1.14 million euros

The sixth edition of the Barolo en primeur charity auction has raised a record 1,140,500 euros. Since its inception in 2021, the initiative has collected a total of 5,674,800 euros to support over 120 healthcare, social, educational, and cultural projects.

Held at the Castello di Grinzane Cavour, the event featured 14 barriques of 2025 Barolo Gustava, vinified by enologist Donato Lanati, alongside municipal lots donated by 39 wineries from the Consorzio di Tutela Barolo Barbaresco Alba Langhe e Dogliani. The auction also included 31 historic bottles dating back to 1996.

Managed by Christie’s Italia director Cristiano De Lorenzo, the auction attracted international interest from London and New York. Winners will receive their bottles in 2029 once the aging process is complete. The event was promoted by Fondazione CRC Donare ETS and Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Cuneo.
