Baron Corbin Credits WWE Exit for United States Title Win

Baron Corbin, the new WWE United States Champion, explained that leaving WWE after his contract expired in November 2024 was the best move for his career. He spent roughly 18 months on the independent circuit, honing his in‑ring work, jiu‑jitsu, microphone skills and overall persona.

Returning to WWE, Corbin captured the United States Championship at SummerSlam by defeating Trick Williams, describing the period away from the "big machine" as a catalyst that reignited his passion and forced exponential growth.

He said the experience taught him humility and appreciation for WWE’s resources, and he aims to prove he is a more dangerous competitor than before his departure.
