Pergolesi Spontini Festival draws over 3,000 attendees in first phase

More than 3,000 spectators attended the first part of the Pergolesi Spontini Festival, which ran from 18 July to 4 August across 17 events in Jesi and the surrounding Vallesina towns. The nine shows held at the Ex Appannaggio in Jesi alone attracted 2,393 visitors.

The festival is on a brief pause from 6 to 23 August and will resume on 28 August, continuing until 21 September with a programme that includes a new Wine Concert, a performance of the Via Crucis di Liszt, the musical Lupin, chamber‑music concerts, a Pergolesi Escape Room, a Social Opera and a closing concert of the Pergolesi Musical School. Festival director Lucia Chiatti said the event is “about halfway through the programme with great satisfaction,” while artistic director Cristian Carrara highlighted the growing audience, noting strong foreign attendance and the festival’s role in promoting the region’s cultural heritage. The Teatro Pergolesi, recently designated a UNESCO World Heritage site, stays open for guided tours during the pause.
