Barpeta Braves win inaugural Assam Premier League

The Barpeta Braves have been crowned champions of the inaugural Assam Premier League after securing a five-wicket victory over the Guwahati Royals in the final. The tournament, organized by TCM Sports, featured 150 players across eight teams from Assam.

The league served as a significant platform for emerging talent, notably Denish Das, who scored a century during the tournament and subsequently earned a place in the Duleep Trophy squad. Other standout performers included Rohit Sen, Bastab Roy, Shubham Kumar Gupta, and Ayushman Malakar.

The event attracted high-level interest from the broader cricketing ecosystem, with scouts from IPL franchises Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bengaluru attending every match. BCCI President Mithun Manhas was also in attendance. The final drew over 25,000 spectators, and the league reportedly garnered over 100 million social media views.
