Barquisimeto fashion entrepreneur found dead amid harassment allegations

Fashion entrepreneur Hodra Peña was found dead in her residence in Barquisimeto, Lara state. Her family members, including her sister and business partner Sondra Peña and cousin Génesis Peña, have publicly denounced the death, alleging that Peña was driven to suicide following prolonged gender violence and harassment.

According to family testimony, the victim had expressed significant concern during a meeting with her sister hours before her death. Peña reportedly sought help to deliver money to her ex-husband—from whom she divorced two years ago—as a condition to see her daughter amidst ongoing legal disputes regarding asset division and child custody.

After confirming via telephone that she had arrived home, Peña ceased all communication by midday. When family members arrived at the apartment to check on her, they encountered the ex-partner in the vicinity. Authorities are expected to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death.
