Barra do Garças launches school contest for gender equality

The city of Barra do Garças has launched an educational contest titled ‘Mulheres que Inspiram e Homens que Cuidam’ (Women who Inspire and Men who Care). Organized by the Municipal Secretariat of Education, Sport, and Leisure, the initiative targets students from early childhood through elementary school.

The contest encourages students to create drawings, texts, and videos focused on gender equality, respect, and the prevention of violence. Prizes include bicycles for younger students and tablets for those in the 3rd to 9th grades, with recognition also provided to teachers and school staff. The program aims to strengthen schools as spaces for human rights and citizenship.
