Barra do Piraí launches vaccination and pet health initiatives

The municipality of Barra do Piraí is implementing several health-focused initiatives. On Saturday, October 24, the Albert Sabin Health Unit in the city center will hold a special vaccination day from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The service aims to help children and adults update their immunization records according to the National Immunization Calendar. Residents are encouraged to bring their vaccination booklets and identification.

Additionally, the Municipal Secretariat of Animal Welfare has launched the ‘Outubro Rosa Pet’ campaign. This initiative provides free preventive physical exams for female dogs and cats every Thursday and Friday throughout October at the UBS Animal. The campaign focuses on the early detection of breast cancer in pets and aims to increase awareness among owners regarding the risks and importance of veterinary check-ups.
