Bayaguana Olympic Village theft: 21 TVs recovered and two suspects arrested

The Dominican National Police and the Public Prosecutor’s Office have recovered 21 stolen 55-inch televisions following a raid in the La Ureña sector of Santo Domingo Este. The television sets had been stolen from the Olympic Village in Bayaguana, Monte Plata province, which serves as a training complex for athletes preparing for the Santo Domingo 2026 games.

Two suspects, Alvaro Martin Ubiera Robles (alias “Buligüi”), 40, and Walfer David Reyes Concepcion, were arrested during the operation. Authorities allege that Ubiera Robles participated in the planning of the theft, while Reyes Concepcion provided rental vehicles to transport the stolen goods.

In addition to the televisions, investigators seized a bulletproof vest, a toy handgun, and 12 cooking pots. The pots are believed to have been stolen from a kitchen used for a school breakfast program. Police are currently investigating four additional individuals to determine their involvement in the burglary.
