Honduras and Colombia advance women's empowerment and AI policy

In Honduras, the Central District Municipal Administration (AMDC) concluded the first phase of the ‘Soy Mujer’ program. Approximately 330 women from Tegucigalpa and Comayagüela graduated from a training cycle focused on leadership, entrepreneurship, and financial education. The initiative, supported by World Vision Honduras and BAC Honduras, aimed to strengthen personal autonomy and economic skills through modules on human growth and small business management.

In Colombia, Nubank founder David Vélez has accepted an ad honorem advisory role for President Abelardo De La Espriella. Vélez will lead a strategy to integrate artificial intelligence into state policy, aiming to modernize the government, improve educational systems, and optimize social policy delivery. The goal is to transform Colombia into a ‘native’ AI nation in Latin America by reducing bureaucracy and increasing productivity.

Other regional developments include social and educational initiatives in Colombia, such as the ‘Más Educación Más Innovación’ program in Barranquilla and various empowerment and credit orientation efforts in Cundinamarca, Pasto, and Tumaco.
