Festa do Peão de Barretos hosts 71st edition in Brazil

The 71st Festa do Peão de Barretos is underway in São Paulo, attracting approximately 990,000 visitors to the Parque do Peão. The event has evolved into a massive economic and cultural platform, blending traditional rodeo competitions with a high-end lifestyle industry. The conglomerate DVT manages much of the event's infrastructure and commercial operations, with estimated revenues exceeding R$ 500 million.

In the rodeo arena, 2024 PBR world champion Cássio Dias Barbosa led the opening of the 33rd Barretos International Rodeo with a score of 91.50 points. The competition features 36 riders from Brazil, the United States, Mexico, and Australia.

The festival's musical lineup includes various sertanejo artists and performers. Paula Fernandes marked her return to the event after 10 years with a performance of ‘Ave Maria’, while singer Gustavo Mioto also performed. The event serves as a significant intersection between the agribusiness sector and the cultural industry, often referred to as ‘agronejo’.

Logistical activity remains high, with the Barretos Airport reporting intense movement of aircraft and helicopters to transport tourists, artists, and investors.
