Barretos Rodeo 2026 offers R$1.5 million in prizes and international acts
The 71st Festa do Peão de Barretos will run from 20 to 30 August 2026 in São Paulo’s interior, featuring eleven days of rodeo competition and music. The event’s prize pool exceeds R$1.5 million, with R$400 000 for the International Bull, R$392 000 for Team Penning and substantial awards across ten other disciplines. The International Rodeo will host riders from Brazil, the United States and Mexico, reinforcing Barretos’ status as Latin America’s largest rodeo.
Country singer Gustavo Mioto’s English single “Drunk Side” has been chosen as the festival’s official theme, marking his first English‑language release and underscoring the event’s cultural reach.
In São José do Rio Preto, the second night of the Rio Preto Country Bulls on 9 July featured the duo Edson & Hudson and forró star Wesley Safadão, with a record‑size stage and live‑monitoring security cameras.
Earlier, from 6 to 19 July 2026, Araçatuba hosted the 49th ABQM National Quarter‑Horse Championship. The two‑week show attracted competitors from across Brazil and offered R$4 million in prize money, boosting the local economy through hotel occupancy, restaurant traffic and temporary jobs.
