Barretos Rodeo Festival selects 2026 queen and princess

The 71st Festa do Peão de Barretos, the largest rodeo festival in Latin America, will crown its new Queen and Princess on Friday, July 17, 2026. The ceremony takes place at the North Shopping Barretos parking lot, where a jury will evaluate ten finalists on criteria such as beauty, poise and charisma.

Among the candidates is 25‑year‑old journalism student and model Thereza Marques, a native of Barretos, who previously won Miss Barretos and Miss São Paulo. Other contestants include engineering, biomedicine, law and digital‑influencer students, each presenting exclusive costumes designed by Marcelo Ortale. The event is organized by the local group Os Independentes with support from the shopping centre.

The elected Queen and Princess will represent the festival throughout the 2026 season, promoting the rodeo’s cultural heritage and the values of resilience and community that the competition highlights.
