Barriere Mayor announces intention to seek re-election

The Mayor of the District of Barriere has announced an intention to seek re-election in the upcoming fall municipal election. Reflecting on eight years of service as both a Councillor and Mayor, the incumbent highlighted progress made through council, staff, and regional partnerships.

Key achievements noted include the transformation of the former IGA building into the Barriere Business Centre, which now houses the Chamber of Commerce, Trekor Metals, Backwoods Chiropractic, and Latin Massage. Additionally, the Mayor emphasized efforts to improve municipal efficiency through policy reviews and advocated for more sustainable and predictable infrastructure funding at the Southern Interior Local Government Association (SILGA) convention.
