September 12 marks the birthday of soul music icon Barry White, who was born in Galveston, Texas, in 1944. Known for his distinctive deep bass voice, White became a prominent singer, songwriter, and producer.

White achieved significant success in the 1970s with hits such as ‘You’re The First, the Last, My Everything’ and ‘Can’t Get Enough Of Your Love, Babe’. His career included forming the group Love Unlimited and working with the Love Unlimited Orchestra, producing tracks like ‘Love’s Theme’. Over his career, he earned three Grammy Awards before passing away in 2003.
