Bart Lemmen claims first professional victory and takes overall lead at Tour de Pologne

Dutch rider Bart Lemmen won the fourth stage of the 2026 Tour de Pologne, finishing in Karpacz after a narrow sprint against Italy's Christian Scaroni. The stage, originally 176 km, was shortened to about 162 km following a massive crash caused by wet roads, which also forced several riders, including João Almeida, to abandon. Lemmen, who had also been caught in the crash, recovered to attack on the final climb and crossed the line by a few centimeters, securing his first WorldTour win and the leader’s jersey with a six‑second advantage in the general classification.

The following day, Swiss rider Jan Christen (UAE Team Emirates‑XRG) won the fifth stage from Opole to Kocierz Resort, edging out Marco Brenner in a sprint. Lemmen finished safely and retained the overall lead, now ahead of Christian Scaroni and Marco Brenner. The race will conclude with a mountain stage and an individual time trial later in the week.
