BART suspends Green Line service following substation fire

BART has suspended Green Line service between Berryessa and Daly City due to ongoing repairs following a substation fire and equipment failures. The suspension aims to reduce train congestion between Daly City and Colma.

The disruptions began Tuesday night with a fire at a traction power substation near Daly City Station. While service was briefly restored, subsequent equipment issues near Daly City and West Oakland, along with a PG&E power outage, caused further delays throughout Wednesday.

All 50 BART stations remain open, and other lines continue to operate. Passengers traveling on the Green Line are advised to use the Blue Line and transfer to the Orange Line at Bay Fair to reach Berryessa or San Francisco.
