Although interest was shown by several clubs, including teams from the Dutch top three, no concrete offers materialized.

Van Rooij noted that the high asking price set by FC Twente—reportedly around ten million euros—limited interest from various leagues, leaving only options in Germany, England, or potentially within the Netherlands. With the transfer window now closed, the defender expressed that he feels more settled and focused on his role at the club. While he does not expect a move during the winter window, he has not entirely ruled out the possibility of a future transfer.
