BarthHaas Group appoints Karsten Neuffer as first Group CEO

The BarthHaas Group, a leading global hop trader, has appointed Karsten Neuffer as its first-ever Group Chief Executive Officer. Neuffer assumed the newly created position on September 1, 2026.

This structural change marks a significant milestone for the Nuremberg-based family business, which has operated for over 230 years. Previously, the group did not have a single central leadership role for the entire organization. Neuffer will hold overall operational responsibility for the group, which includes BarthHaas, John I. Haas in the United States, and Hop Products Australia.

Neuffer brings extensive international experience from the agricultural and food industries. He previously served as CEO of the US-based rice seed specialist RiceTec and held leadership roles at Syngenta and Indigo AG. Chairman Alexander Barth stated that the appointment is a vital step in the further development and long-term positioning of the organization.
