Bartın expects 120,000 tons of silage corn harvest

In Bartın, Turkey, the silage corn harvest has commenced, with officials expecting a yield of approximately 120,000 tons from roughly 30,000 decares of land. The harvest event, organized by the Bartın Provincial Directorate of Agriculture, took place in Genişkatırcı village on land owned by Sinan Aydın.

Governor Nurtaç Arslan attended the field day alongside AK Party Bartın Deputy Yusuf Ziya Aldatmaz and Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry Murat Türkmen. During the event, officials provided information regarding the use of local, national, and non-GMO corn seeds. Governor Arslan emphasized that the province is incentivizing silage corn production due to its high importance in livestock farming and its cost-effectiveness as a feed product.

During the field inspections, Governor Arslan experienced a brief moment of difficulty when corn debris and stalks from the harvesting machinery fell onto his clothing while he was observing the process closely.
