Bartın launches 'Sağlığım İş Yerinde' workplace health project

The Turkish Ministry of Health has launched the 'Sağlığım İş Yerinde' (My Health at Work) project to promote preventive healthcare and a culture of wellness within industrial environments. The project's launch took place at the Bartın Organized Industrial Zone (OSB) management building.

Under the initiative, health services will be brought directly to workers. These free services include smoking cessation clinics, cancer screenings, and obesity prevention programs. The project aims to combat non-communicable diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, and cancer by providing early diagnosis and health education regarding nutrition and physical activity.

During the launch event, participants underwent various health assessments, including blood pressure, blood sugar, and handgrip strength tests. Notable results included high handgrip strength scores from local officials and security personnel, with a male security officer recording 75 kg and a female officer recording 38 kg. The project is scheduled to run for six months in the Bartın OSB, targeting approximately 6,700 workers.
