Bartın: Two men found safe after 14-hour search in forest
Two men, Musa Avcı and Fatih Ertuğrul, were found safe after going missing while mushroom picking in the Arpalık area of Bartın. The pair had split from their group of four friends in the forest between Gezen and Kokurdan Yaylası.
A search operation involving approximately 50 personnel—including the gendarmerie, AFAD, health teams, forest officials, and Kumluca Municipality staff—was launched at 4:00 PM. Despite heavy rain and difficult terrain, the search continued through the night.
The two men survived the night by building a makeshift shelter out of tree branches and bushes. The search concluded after the men reached an area with mobile reception and were able to transmit their location to relatives. Öncüler Village Headman Ahmet Demircan located them and transported them to the local gendarmerie station.
