Bartın University launches 60+ Refreshment University
Bartın University (BARÜ) has launched the 60+ Refreshment University project, a two-year program designed to integrate individuals aged 60 and older into academic, social, and cultural life. The initiative was established through a protocol between the university and the Ministry of Family and Social Services.
The program currently includes 40 students who will receive training in various disciplines, including health, technology, art, digitalization, nature, and sports. Beyond academic instruction, the project aims to foster intergenerational interaction, allowing older participants to share their life experiences with younger students.
During the opening session, titled “Listening,” BARÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Akkaya emphasized the importance of communication and the value of sharing experiences as a legacy for future generations.
