Bartın University Secures TÜBİTAK Funding for Two Sustainable Building Projects

Bartın University (BARÜ) received support from the TÜBİTAK‑ARDEB 1001 programme for two research projects aimed at advancing sustainable construction and energy‑efficient buildings. One project, led by Doç. Dr. Abid Ustaoğlu, will develop an integrated photovoltaic system that stores excess solar heat in phase‑change materials to help balance indoor temperatures and move toward near‑zero‑energy structures. The second project, overseen by Doç. Dr. Muhammed Yasin Durgun, focuses on creating new low‑carbon building materials from waste‑derived aggregates, targeting reduced energy consumption in concrete production. Both initiatives involve collaboration with researchers from Karadeniz Technical University, Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University and Uşak University, and aim to contribute to environmental sustainability in the construction sector.
