Barton Gold advances Tunkillia gold project in South Australia

Australian explorer Barton Gold reported significant drill results from its Phase‑2 program at the Tunkillia gold project in South Australia's Gawler Craton. Intersections of 13 metres grading 5.01 g/t Au at 55 m depth and 17 metres grading 3.09 g/t Au from 100 m depth were announced, marking some of the highest grades recorded in the southern zone of Area 223.

The company says the data supports continued resource upgrades, with plans to finalize the updated mineral resource estimate, complete a preliminary feasibility study, and submit a mining licence application. Barton Gold holds over 5,000 km² of licences across the craton, which also hosts world‑class deposits such as Olympic Dam and the former Challenger gold mine, and operates the region’s only gold processing mill. The firm is positioning Tunkillia as a second production hub while exploring the revival of the Challenger project.
